Guerlain – Plus Que Jamais

Perfume: Plus Que Jamais
House: Guerlain
Source: The Perfumed Court
Size: 1mL

Perfumed Court Notes: bergamot, neroli, ylang-ylang, iris, amber, jasmine, and vanilla

Date: 12/10/08 Weather: 54 degrees, drizzly

Comments: Cigarette ashes right out of the bottle. This may be due to me spending a night at a smoky bowling alley and/or sniffing SL Serge Noir first. The ashes blow off and I am left with this mossy floral foggy thing. Mitsouko as skin scent. Occasionally, I will catch a “flower” or a “peach” or a “spice” or a “moss” – but nothing really stands out here. Slowly fades down to this delicious musky vanilla. Actually stronger at this stage than at any other point in its development. Takes over 12 hours for this scent to run its course.

Date: 7/14/09 Weather: 80 degrees, sunny

Comments: Very interesting white floral out of the bottle this time. Really well blended so you can’t pick out any of the notes. Just “flowers”. Significant hit of vanilla appears at the 30 minute mark. Then it becomes slightly soapy and musky – enough of a hint to mitigate some of the sweetness. Not so much to register “soap!” The drydown is gorgeous. Didn’t last as long this time – gone after 6 hours.
