Love Potion Magickal Perfumerie – Winter Solstice 2008

Perfume: Love Potion Winter Solstice 2008
House: Love Potion Magickal Perfumerie
Source: Love Potion Magickal Perfumerie
Size: 2 mL

Notes:Vanilla, Creamy Butter, Tunisian Amber and Patchouli Resins, and sweet Winter Preserves

Date: 8/29/08 Weather: 70 degrees, grey, rainy.

Comments: Starts out promisingly enough – a woody, vanilla amber. But it quickly evolves to wet cardboard. This is the 2nd scent in a row (including Immortal Beauty) that seems to have this corked wine/wet cardboard note. Makes me think that TCA (the bacteria that causes “corked” wine) has contaminated one of their oils. That wet cardboard scent gets stronger as it dries down. Not good. Gets worse as it dries down. Gave up and oversprayed with Ormonde Jayne’s Orris Noir – which made it much better for a couple of hours before the wet cardboard began to dominate again. I’m hoping the perfumers write me back and tell me that they have a bad oil – I can’t imagine that they meant this to smell this way.
