L’Artisan – Timbuktu

Perfume: Timbuktu
House: L’artisan
Perfumer: Bertrand Duchaufour
Source: Luckyscent
Size: 1mL

Luckyscent Notes: green mango, pink pepper berries, cardamom, karo karounde flower, smokey incense of papyrus wood, patchouli, myrrh, vetiver

Date: 4/28/08 Weather: 60 degrees, rainy

Comments: The cedar / pine / sandalwood inside of a working sauna (minus the sweaty bodies). This scent is very woody and linear on me. I like it a lot – but I’m only getting wood and something faint and sweetly aquatic at the top that disappears after 5 minutes. Then it dries down to wood. High. end. wood. May need to try this one again another day to see if it does something different.

Date: 6/25/08 Weather: 70 degrees, sunny

Comments: Cedar/pine/sandalwood. Then becomes slightly floral and incenseish along with the wood. Definitely more going on this time. I think this scent needs sun and heat.

Date: 9/21//08 Weather: 67 degrees,sunny

Comments: Fighting the last vestiges of a cold. Still strong pine/sandalwood combo to start. Then an incense kicks in. Gets powdery and a bit floral in the dry down. Wondering how much of the floral sweetness is a result of residual Possets Madame X on my shirt and a wonky nose. No matter – smells nice.

Date: 12/5/08 Weather: 35 degrees, sunny

Comments: Pine / sandalwood. Then incense. Essentially stays pine incense for the wearing, though after the first couple of hours, I started picking a very slight balsamic accord. This stuff needs heat to fully bloom. Still going after 7 hours.
