Comments: Starts a bit citrusy. Becomes dusty quickly with hints of spices and flowers. Not entirely certain what to make of this scent. Begin to get a hint of fruit after 10 minutes – but only if I sniff and concentrate really really hard. Gets powdery/dusty/spicy after 30 minutes. A lotion note also makes an appearance. An hour later, the powder strengthens. Something about this reminds me of the sophisticated, opinionated aunt I never had. 90 minutes in – more spices with the powder. 2.5 hours in – the powder (finally) burns off and I am left with a spicy, lotiony note. Fades to something gently vanilla/musky in 4 hours – almost gone.

Comments: Get a sweetish citrus (like orange oil) blast before I get the green floral powder. Then I start picking up a peach/vanilla sillage running through this. The scent alternates between the green floral powder and the peach/vanilla for an hour – but only on the sillage. If you sniff your wrist – it’s the dusty green floral powder. A spice note appears among the peach/vanilla about 30 minutes in and that note begins to appear more often. If you sniff your wrist – you get lotion and the dusty green powder (with a much stronger powder note). Very interesting how different this scent is up close vs. from a distance. Up close – BF deemed it “weird”. More admiringly rather than “please don’t wear that again.” Becomes the pretty vanilla/musky drydown in 4 hours. Still going pretty strong at 8 hours this wearing.

Comments: Dusty green floral powder with spices. Still amazed at the difference between the up-close wrist/chest scent and the sillage. No comment from the bowling boys. Still goes strong 8 hours in.

Comments: Wearing the perfume version, courtesy of Perfumequeen. On first application – mossy and green. Not picking up much florals or fruit. As it dries down, pick up a fairly strong cinnamon scent with the Guerlainade. Lasts a really long time – still going strong the next morning – over 12 hours later – as a cinnamon Guerlainade with a slight mossy quality.

Date: 10/7/08 Weather: 50 degrees, clear

Comments: Wearing the perfume on one wrist, the EdP on the other. First application – the perfume is green, mossy, almost vetiverish. The EdP is very fruity. About 20 minutes in, the perfume is settling into the cinnamon guerlainade. It didn’t dry down this fast last night, so the emphasis here may be a result of the remains of last night’s wearing. The EdP smells like the top of the perfume – green, mossy, almost vetiverish. 3 hours in, the perfume is creamy, vanillic, spicy. Hint of green and flowers. No lotion to be seen. The EdP developed a rose lotion note about 1 hour in. Generally – more floral. The cinnamon is starting to appear, but it reads more like hand lotion than as something that is melding with your skin. Over the course of the rest of the scent – the EdP and the parfum switch between one of the other being slightly drier. Both were still going strong (the EdP, possibly a tad stronger) 12 hours after application.

Date: 12/4/08 Weather: 40 degrees, clear

Comments: Wearing the parfum version today. Got a huge blast of leather at the top. Then settles in to vibrate between leather, moss and powder for the next couple of hours. A touch of cinnamon appears at the 2 hour mark. You can pick up the Guerlainade on the sillage more than up close. Hums with the cinnamon / mossy / creamy Guerlain accord for the next 6-7 hours, getting progressively fainter. Continues to hang close to the skin after 8 hours.
