L’Artisan – Iris Pallida

Perfume: Iris Pallada
Perfumer: L’Artisan Perfumer
Source: Luckyscent
Size: 1 mL

Luckyscent Notes: Iris, lily of the valley, violet leaf, orange blossom, rose, aniseed, patchouli, cedar, vetiver, ambrette seed, white musk, guaiac wood.

Date: 11/15/07 Weather: 32 degrees and clear

Comments: Starts woody, earthy and funky. After 20 minutes, becomes powdery. Reminds me a bit of lipstick. Drydown a powdery vanilla floral. Lasts 10+ hours. This stuff has fantastic longevity and strikes me as being office appropriate. The scent is an interesting intellectual exercise. But I don’t see myself craving this one.

Date: 10/1/08 Weather: 68 degrees, drizzly

Comments: Still starts sharply woody and earthy. Then becomes powdery and more floral. Hint of vanilla. I’m wearing this because I sensed parallels between this and Prada Infusion d’Iris. This one is slightly more floral. Doesn’t have the leathery note.

Date: 4/17/09 Weather: 65 degrees, clear, evening

Comments: Iris, violets and ambrette (picking up this note very clearly this time). Smells much like the iris flowers I’ve encountered. Becomes more musky and vanillic as it dries down – but continues to maintain the iris. Gone the next morning.

Retired – finished sample 4/16/09
