L’Artisan – Safran Troublant

Perfume: Safran Troublant
Perfumer: L’Artisan
Source: Luckyscent
Size: 1mL

Notes: saffron, vanilla, sandalwood and red rose

Date: 1/20/07 Weather: 22 degrees and clear

Comments: Starts with all of the above notes, seamlessly blended. There also seems to be a hint of cumin (or something) that makes this scent slightly dirty – in a good way. After 20 minutes, becomes more spices and vanilla. Still that blend of spices, rose(very subtle), vanilla. Not catching much sandalwood at all. Very linear once it hits the drydown. I can see why people rave about this scent. Extremely comforting.

Date: 9/22/08 Weather: 70 degrees, sunny

Comments: Saffron rice pudding with a hint of rosewater. I’m not catching a lot of details in this since my nose is still a bit off from the cold. This is resulting in my nose amplifying medicinal / soapy notes. Thankfully, for this scent it means I am catching the saffron better. As it dries down, becomes a saffron and vanilla laced musk. The whole is very creamy. Still very comforting.

Date: 2/16/09 Weather: 35 degrees, sunny

Comments: Strong, medicinal saffron with butter and vanilla. The strength of the top notes may be a result of me dousing myself in this stuff today (almost 1/2 mL) Dries down to vanilla musk with a hint of flowers. Gone in 7 hours.

Retired – finished sample 2/16/09
