Bond No. 9 – Chinatown

Perfume: Chinatown
House: Bond No 9
Source: Luscious Cargo
Size: 1mL EdP

Luscious Cargo Notes:
Top: Peach blossom, bergamot
Heart: gardenia, tuberose, peony, orange blossom
Base: patchouli, cedarwood, vanilla, sandalwood, cardamom, guiac wood

Date: 10/29/07 Weather: 40 degrees and clear

Comments: Starts very floral. Goes a little spicy but mostly gardenia and tuberose (accenting the suffocating bits). Gets powdery quickly. 4 hours later – decent sillage when catch occasional whiffs. Doesn’t smell like much up close.

Subsequent comments: I do find myself thinking about that drydown occasionally – but fear wearing it because it seems like a scent that can blow folks out of a large room if not used with care. I will need to try this one again.

Date: 1/19/07 Weather: 30 degrees and threatening to snow

Comments: Still starts a bit floral, then lots of cardamom. Picking up a cumin note this time in the heart and through the drydown to go with the cardamom. Also picking up wood and patchouli. Not as suffocating this time, but still a strong fragrance and not one I’d want to wear with a headache or in the heat.

Date: 7/24/08 Weather: 83 degrees, sunny

Comments: Starts with an interesting incense note this time. Then dries down to the signature fruity peachy spicy patchouli floral thing. It’s this heart that I thought of when I wore Enlevement au Serail earlier today. The top on this is much creamier.
