Kenzo – Amour

Perfume: Amour
House: Kenzo
Perfumer: Olivier Cresp, Daphne Bugey
Source: Sephora
Size: 1.5 mL Spray

Sephora Notes: Frangipani Blossoms from Bali or Borobudur, Cherry Blossoms from Japan, Tanakha Wood, Incense, Thai Rice Steam, Vanilla of La Réunion, White Tea from China.

Date: 8/30/07 Weather: 72 degrees

Wearing: Starts fruity-floral (from the cherry and frangipani). 5 minutes in, becomes more floral with a hint of fennel. The anise /fennel note strengthens 10 minutes in. In 30 minutes, becomes woodier with fennel. 35 minutes – an incense note appears. The scent is gone in 3 hours.

Comments: Very light and airy, more so than the notes suggest. A bit of ozone in the scent as well. The thai rice steam? Inoffensive and kinda boring. Meh

Date: 1/22/08 Weather: 25 degrees, threatening to sleet

Comments: Starts with a pretty, sweet vanilla floral. Within an hour – becomes Iso E Super. Chemical Wood. NO OTHER NOTES! Stays that way for 30 minutes before turns musky and vanilla. Alternates between Iso E Super and the musky vanilla for the rest of the life of the scent. Inoffensive but I wouldn’t race out to get a bottle.

Date: 2/11/08 Weather: 30 degrees, windy and dry

Comments: 1st spray – alcohol, chemicals. Very sharp and sour on this wearing. No vanilla, no floral. Paint thinner that the manufacturer had tried to make less offensive with some “perfumey” scent. Yuck! And I can’t scrub right now!!!! Finally get the vanilla/floral after 30 minutes. Stays until 3 hours in.
