Frederic Malle – Carnal Flower

Perfume: Carnal Flower
House: Frederic Malle
Source: The Perfume Court
Size: 1.5 mL

Perfume Court Notes: Tuberose, bergamot, melon, eucalyptus, ylang-ylang, jasmine, white musk cocktail, coconut, and orange blossom absolute

Date: 1/26/08 Weather: 31 degrees, partly cloudy

Comments: Yup. Tuberose – very suffocating tuberose. About 5 minutes in, pick up a minty note that cuts through the tuberose for all of 1 minute. Then tuberose. Picks up some jasmine about 40 minutes in. Not certain I would want to wear much of this in enclosed spaces. I’d probably suffocate anyone within 10 feet. About an hour later – still tuberose, but greener. Starts to develop some spices with the tuberose 80 minutes in. Lasts awhile – at least 4 hours before I showered.

Date: 3/4/08 Weather: 70 degrees, rainy

Comments: Tuberose, but with a slight menthol note. That note lasts about 5 minutes, then – tuberose. 20 minutes later, pick up a coconut note with some jasmine. Still pretty large sillage, but I’m liking this much more in the warmer weather. No fruits to be seen in this one – just tuberose and her friends the white flowers. Worn 2 hours before showered.

Date: 4/8/08 Weather: 55 degrees, evening

Comments: A greener, mentholated tuberose. Not as suffocating as the Fracas. Within 40 minutes, a very tropical white flower and coconut – big sea-change from the top. Could smell it on my sheets the next morning, but not on me.
