Tauer Perfumes – L’air du Desert Marocain

Perfume: L’air du Desert Marocain
Perfumer: Andy Tauer
Source: Luckyscent
Size: 1mL

Luckyscent Notes: Coriander, Petitgrain (Bitter orange), Lemon, Bergamot, Jasmin, Cistus, Bourbon, Geranium, Cedarwood, Vetiver, Vanille, Patchouli and Ambergris

Date: 10/30/07 Weather: 50 degrees and sunny

Comments: Starts with a woody hit (cedar), then goes spicy and woody. A hint of citrus appears through the wood and spices. Another very pretty journey scent. Definitely unisex, dominantly cedar. May be best in warm weather. Once dries down, pretty linear. Decent sillage. Lasting.

Date: 11/18/07 Weather: 50 degrees, sunny and breezy

Comments: Still starts woody. This time, picking up vetiver, patchouli and ambergris. Not picking up flowers. Feel like I smell “masculine. Pretty consistent sillage once hit the drydown

Date: 2/23/08 Weather: 25 degrees, night (3:30am)

Comments: Still woody, but registers as a spicy, slightly floral incense. I’m feeling like it is much “prettier” this go-around in the cooler weather. Isn’t evolving much from that initial impression this time (though I think that may be because my nose is out of whack and I’m picking up a “bloody nose” smell with everything). Develops a slight soapy note about 30 minutes in – which disappears after an hour and goes back to the spicy slight floral cedary incense. Very well blended.

Date: 8/27/08 Weather: 77 degrees, cloudy

Comments: This time, registering with a stronger citrus/wood/amber note – particularly during the first hour. Then becomes the pretty floral spice incense, much stronger on the incense this go around. Lasts forever – 9 hours in, still going strong. The top and heart behave a bit differently each time I wear it. The drydown, however, is quite distinctive. Was really craving this one this morning. Noticed that this scent also has significant sillage – particularly through the first 6 hours of wear. The scent was always in the background.

Date: 10/8/08 Weather: 54 degrees, sunny

Comment: This time, it reads significantly more herbal than usual. Especially at the top – but even the heart seems to have dominant herbs and greenery. Start picking up the flowers around 20 minutes into the program.
