Olivier Durbano – Black Tourmaline

Perfume: Black Tourmaline
Perfumer: Olivier Durbano
Source: Luckyscent
Size: 1 mL

Luckyscent Notes: Cardamom, coriander, cumin, frankincense, pepper, smoked wood, oud, leather, precious woods, musk, amber, moss, patchouli

Date: 10/17/07 Weather: 60 degrees

Comments: Clean campfire – smoke, pine, other woods. Dries down to a beautiful amber, glove leather and musk after 30 minutes. This stuff lasted 10 hours on my chest. I see this one becoming a craver.

Date: mid-December Weather: N/A

Comments: Has a distinctive campfire topnote with some cumin. Becomes green and sweet on me. Basil. Something floral. Then start to smell the leather. A very complex journey scent. One to wear at home and analyze. May be tough to wear out in public.

Date: 2/28/08 Weather: 33 degrees, windy and cold. May have the flu.

Comments: This morning I wore Ava Luxe Kretek, Noonish I put on Ayala Moriel Black Licorice. Both scents are pretty much dead at 5pm so I put this on. Get the campfire topnote again. Then in 2 minutes – new car smell. Showered after 1 hour (still had the new car smell) and reapplied. Got the piney/campfire topnote again, then got new car smell – this lasted for about an hour, then leather (fine glove). 2+ hours in – began to pick up incense, which strengthened over the next hour or so. 4 hours in – a hint of coriander and something a touch sour appears for the rest of the wearing. The sourness is not unpleasant, but it’s there with the incense. Was still going 6 hours later when I went to bed.

Date: 5/28/08 Weather: 60 degrees, clear

Comments: Was really in the mood for the campfire topnotes. SO’s comment, “You smell awful.” I guess a scent I need to wear for me and not him.

Date: 12/17/08 Weather: 43 degrees, drizzly

Comments: Again, in the mood for the warmth of this scent. Very piney this time, not as smoky and not as much cumin as I’ve picked up in previous wearings. Lots of woods, hint of incense. The pine burns off after a couple of hours and I am left with an incensed wood with a touch of amber. Seems more linear this time – or I’m just not able to concentrate on it right now.
