L’Atelier Boheme – Fil de Soie

Perfume: Fil de Soie
House: L’Atelier Boheme
Source: Luckyscent
Size: 1 mL

Luckyscent Notes: Basil, sage, cedar, patchouli, sandalwood, leather

Date: 10/9/07 Weather: 70 degrees

Comments: Starts herbal. There is a SERIOUS cumin/plastic note through this. It becomes slightly floral, then a full soft glove leather scent. Love the drydown on this. Not fond of the topnotes. Feminine enough for me to wear, but I would have to be in the mood.

Date: 2/2/08 Weather: 40 degrees, clear

Comments: Starts with cumin/leather. No herbs on this wearing. Does have a floral/anise note through the scent after 3 minutes. Can’t decide if this is saddle leather or glove leather. Not catching the woody notes either. Catching a hint of woodiness about 15 minutes in on the back of my hand (oddly, not my wrist). The drydown on this is still quite pretty – floral leather. But I quit being able to smell this after 1 hour today. Not sure if I’m still stuffy or if it just vanished.

Date: 6/25/08 Weather: 80 degrees, evening

Comments: Osmanthus and suede. Very apricoty note. Then the osmanthus/apricots disappear and it’s all leather all the time. Fell asleep 2 hours after application, and it was still going. Slept pretty soundly too…..

Date: 11/7/08 Weather: 55 degrees, evening

Comments: The gently heated armpit of a man with a very clean diet (no garlic, onions, spices). Lots of cumin and leather on this wearing. I felt like I had dirtied myself up putting this on after taking my evening shower. Not sure how I feel about this scent at this stage. Gone the next morning.

Date: 3/25/09 Weather: 43 degrees, breezy

Comments: Iris and leather. Strong on the leather. Best thing I’ve worn this week. Stays linear and lasted a good 12 hours on this wearing. Also dumped 1/3 of the sample on me – so maybe quantity is the key with this scent.

Retired – used up sample 3/25/09
