Serge Lutens – Claire de Musc

Perfume: Claire de Musc
Perfumer: Serge Lutens
Source: Luckyscent
Size: 1mL

Luckyscent Notes: Musk, bergamot, neroli petals, Tuscan iris powder

Date: 1/18/08 Weather: 35 degrees and sunny

Comments: This starts off slightly soapy and musky. When the soap burns off (in about 5 minutes), it becomes musk laced with flowers and vanilla. Pretty much stays that way for the rest of the wearing – with flowers and vanilla weaving in and out of the white musk. Excellent longevity (7 hours later – I can still smell it with no effort). Very pretty, very wearable. But not different enough to justify the cost. Reminds me a bit of DSH Special Formula X.

Date: 3/23/08 Weather: 35 degrees, temp dropping

Comments: Musk with flowers and vanilla. Wearing over old Stephanie de Saint-Aignan Embruns d’ Amber, which gives this wearing a an amber edge. Smell this off and on pretty strongly 8 hours later. Occasionally catch myself wondering what smells good. This in a smoky bar. And worn sparingly. Very powerful stuff.

Date: 6/22/08 Weather: 83 degrees, sunny

Comments: White musk. Reminds me today of Kiehl’s Musk Oil. Musk, a hint of flowers, a hint of vanilla. some soap. Still pretty powerful – maybe too much so for the heat. Found people either stood inappropriately close to me or couldn’t get away fast enough. This after making it a point of wearing it sparingly. Even I couldn’t quite stand myself at times. More appropriate for cooler weather on my skin.
