DSH – Wild Honeysuckle

Perfume: Wild Honeysuckle
Perfumer: Dawn Spencer Hurwitz
Source: DSH – Essence Oils
Size: 1mL Oil

Notes:
Top – Bergamot, Bitter Orange, Egyptian Neroli, Freesia
Heart – Egyptian Jasmine Absolute, French Lily, Honey, Honeysuckle
Base – Armoise (Mugwort), Brazilian Vetiver, Cassis Bud, Green Grass

Date: 1/10/08 Weather: 45 degrees and rainy

Comments: First, you walk by a damp green bush. The honeysuckle blossom blooms and becomes slightly stronger as you wear it. The scent of the surrounding leaves remain throughout the relatively linear evolution of this scent. Super pretty and strikes me as a good representation of a honeysuckle bush (rather than just the flower or the nectar).

Date: 4/5/08 Weather: 55 degrees, clear

Comments: Green, then quickly blooms to honeysuckle. Still quite green. Stays linear. Only seems to last about 4 hours. Not as long-wearing as I would have expected for an oil.

Date: 7/10/08 Weather: 82 degrees, sunny

Comments: Just like walking past a honeysuckle bush. After 7 hours of wear – a close sniff of the wrist exposes a sour honey note. But the first 5 hours is all pretty honeysuckle.

Date: 12/27/08 Weather: 54 degrees, cloudy, evening

Comments: She really does nice job of capturing the scent of walking past a honeysuckle bush. Particularly for the first hour of the scent. Becomes more honeyed as it dries down with a distinctive orange blossom note. Gone the next morning.
