Serge Lutens – Ambre Sultan

Perfume: Ambre Sultan
Perfumer/ House: Serge Lutens
Source: Luckyscent
Size: 1mL

Luckyscent Notes: coriander, amber, oregano, bay leaf, myrtle, angelica root, sandalwood, patchouli, benzoin, vanilla

Date: 12/14/07 Weather: 50 degrees, clear

Comments: Starts as clean amber on the sweet side. Develops a hint of powder (not much), then becomes amber/vanilla with some spices. Lasts 6+ hours. Could smell it 9 hour later. Not picking up much greenery. May be one of my favorite ambers.

Date: 1/10/08 Weather: 45 degrees

Comments: Starts as a sweet amber. Develops a brief orangy note, then slightly herbal. Then back to a pure, sweet woody amber. No soapy notes. A little heavy for the gym. Still lasts about an hour after showering. Easily one of my favorite ambers.

Date: 1/6/09 Weather: 40 degrees, rainy

Comments: Slightly herbal sweet woody amber. Becomes a bit syrupy at the 2 hour mark – which I love. Haven’t worn this in awhile and not entirely sure why it’s been so long. Doesn’t have huge sillage, but for the first few hours, I would walk around catching whiffs of something that smelled fantastic and realize it was me. Lasted about 10 hours. Finally gone after a full day wearing and a hockey game.
