Neil Morris – Aegean
Perfume: Aegean
Perfumer: Neil Morris
Source: Neil Morris Fragrances
Size: 1mL EdP
Perfumer’s Notes:
Top – Mandarin and Basil Blossom
Heart – Lavender and Quince
Base – Sandalwood, Benzoin and Musk
Date: 8/10/07 Weather: 75 degrees. 5:21am
Wearing: Starts with a strong orange oil note with a little black pepper and thai basil. IN 5 minutes it evolves to something with more bergamot/earl grey tea mixed with cardamom and anise. Within 10 minutes it becomes fruity with lavender, bay rum, quince (I think?) and fig. There is a lot more fruit in here than I am describing. 20 minutes – it becomes resiny and musky with a green note and settles in for the duration.
Comments: This registers as a more masculine scent on me than I am comfortable wearing. It’s obviously well-crafted and well-loved on Basenotes. But something about the combination of fruit, greenery (probably the lavender) and resins that gave me a headache and made me very uncomfortable wearing it. Finally had to wash this off after 1 hour. I need to revisit this fragrance in cooler weather.
